The business plan

This is an update to the business plan I wrote in 2009 for my business. To see why I would do such a thing, check out my "What's The Plan" post. To check out the entire plan, please visit my business plan page. Enjoy!

Overview

June, my biggest month in the past two years. The only reason, two self-produced contracts. That accounted for near half the revenues brought in.

Feel like a broken record, but again no work on growing the business.

Profit & Loss Budget vs. Actual – June 2011

You’ll notice that subcontracted services were quite high. This is because I worked with other videographers in order to produce those self-produced contracts. That’s part of the reason why even though the revenue was 20% higher than budgeted, the net income was fairly close to the budget.

Equipment expense this month was way over budget, as there was no budget for equipment this month. This happened because my main camera broke down, forcing me to buy a replacement. The silver lining was that my broken camera was under warranty and I will be getting it back, so now I have two cameras.

Conclusion

The past three months have been good months for the business, that should have been expected. Winter and summer are the slowest months, with spring and fall being the busiest months.
