Prelude
This is the sixth entry regarding my business plan. This is part of a series where I will be posting my business plan online. If you are curious as to why I would post my business plan online, visit my “what’s the business plan” post.
Start-Up and Implementation
As the business is currently operational, nothing is required to “start” the business. That being said, in order to further grow the business, some items will need to be accomplished. The main goal will be to both populate the www.smallbusinessdoer.com website with content as well as promote it. The website will both be a source of active and passive income.
Populating and promoting the website can be achieved by:
- Finding business owners and service providers to interview and provide content for the website. This will simultaneously provide content and promote the website at the same time, as anyone contributing to the website will also be interested in its contents.
- Being active in both the physical and online communities. This can be done at events, associations, forums, and blogs to name a few.
- Cross promoting and recommending other businesses.
The costs to achieve these tasks are more in time than they are in money. Networking once a week shouldn’t cost more than $100 a month. Time required can be significant, and could take every waking moment. However, 5 hours a week will be the target in 2010.
