The Business Plan

I decided to post my business plan online for a multitude of reasons that you can read up about here.

— NOTE: This plan was commenced in 2009 and posted online in early 2010 and has been updated monthly and yearly ever since

This is the first draft of my plan. At this point, I would usually show the plan to a few friends and family with business / academic experience to review for the overall flow of the document, grammar and spelling, and to see if the plan even makes sense.

After reading this a few times, I know that the plan still isn’t at the point where I’d normally present it to non-reviewers, but for the purpose of this exercise, here it is.

I plan on reviewing and tweaking the plan in the upcoming months, but since I’m already running the business, I felt it better to be going off of something as opposed to nothing. I will do monthly updates on how I’m tracking.

One thing I think would be nice to add to this plan woule be an action timetable of tangible goals to accomplish in different quarters that aren’t money related (I already have financial goals in the plan). That action table wasn’t part of the CYBF (Canadian Youth Business Foundation) free online business plan template I worked with, but I have written plans based on other templates and found that section really useful.

Here is the business plan, and please don’t feel shy commenting on it or asking questions. I would love that. The only thing I would ask for is constructive criticism, that is, criticism with the intent of helping me improve the plan.
